Richard Allan Dick, 73, of Long Grove, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Long Grove Cemetery, Long Grove. Memorials may be made to Richard’s family for various charities which were special to him.
Richard was born on April 14, 1939, the son of Edward H. and Ardena C. (Jacobson) Dick. On May 23, 1959 in Muscatine, Iowa, he married Sandra Kluever.
Richard was a carpenter for Scott County Park for 34 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Long Grove Christian Church, Long Grove Fire Department, Ducks Unlimited and National Rifle Association. Richard worked with his aunt and uncle for many years of his life at the Eldridge Mink Ranch. He was an avid nature lover and enjoyed hunting.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sandra Dick; two daughters, Cynthia Frisbee of Davenport and Andrea Barr of Long Grove; his mother, Ardena Dick of Eldridge; five grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Zach, Alynn and Sarah; two great-granchildren, Drew and Destiny; one sister, Sue Tague of DeWitt.
