Barbara L. Spurrier

Barbara L. Spurrier, 80, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity in Bettendorf, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 30 Aug 2025, 2-4 pm at Rudy’s Tacos in Eldridge, Iowa
Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barbara was born September 10, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of William A. & Ruth M. (Kimmel) McGill. She retired in 2001 from the Red Jacket in Davenport. Barbara had always loved factory work and enjoyed working with her hands.

Barbara enjoyed watching and collecting movies, crocheting, doing puzzles and playing games. She loved to sing and dance and would randomly break out in song at times. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard - both were always kept in pristine condition. She also loved to tell stories from her childhood and nights out with her siblings.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Darian (Jake) Agan of Seymour, Iowa, Beatrice George of Audubon, Iowa and her son, Travis (Suk) Spurrier of Macomb, Michigan; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Mariah, Blake & Trevor; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia (Guy) Sons of Lost Nation, Iowa and Sue (Ron) King of Grand Mound, Iowa; and her brother, Bill (Donna) McGill of Camanche, Iowa.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marla McGlassen; her brother, Ron McGill; her grandson, Anthony Spurrier; and her daughter Carletta Jean.
