Memorial services for Beth Evelyn Morton, 77, of Bettendorf, will be 11:00 am on Friday, August 7, 2026, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Family will greet friends on Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Beth passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis, Davenport.
Beth E. Cross was born on April 11, 1949, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Alvin and Roberta (Breitenbach) Cross. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1967. She then married Jim Morton on May 30, 1971, in Davenport. She worked at Fidlar and Chambers Printing, Davenport, also the Mississippi Valley Blood Center and Advantage Advertising, retiring in 2009.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport, IA. She enjoyed music, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, listening to Alabama, playing Bridge and cooking for her family. She loved big family get togethers and traveling the country and overseas.
Survivors include her husband, Jim of Bettendorf, her daughter, Katie (Chris) Erickson of Davenport, son, Cris (Matthew Ford) Morton of Brooklyn, NY, grandchild, Maker Cervantes, brothers, Matthew (Theresa) Cross of Davenport, Curt (Pam) Cross of St. Louis, Missouri, Todd (Vicki) Cross of St. Louis, Missouri, sisters-in-laws, Phyllis Cross of Troy, Missouri, Pat Cross of Chicago, IL, 16 nieces and nephews whom she adored and special friends Roger and Mary Lou Keester of Bettendorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Mark Cross and Stuart Cross.
A special thank you to Ridgecrest (Oakwood Gardens-Memory Care) and their amazing staff who cared for her the last couple years.
