Betty Ann Elizabeth (Stoffers) Groenbeck passed away on June 22, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Betty was born October 16, 1932, to Gustave and Wilhelmina Stoffers in Davenport, Iowa. Betty married the love of her life, Rolland Groenbeck, in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1978.

Betty’s main passions were her family and her love of cooking and baking. Betty enjoyed showing her love to others by baking. Holidays and birthdays were filled with appetizers, big meals, and best of all, desserts. She was famous for her peanut brittle and made countless pounds each year until her tremors made it impossible to continue. Baking goodies and making homemade dishes and sharing them were truly what made Betty happy, as was the tradition in her German family.

Betty was a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church throughout her life. She loved the Lord and knew she was going to Heaven.

Betty will be dearly missed by her children, Vickie Turner of Wilton, Iowa and Ken (Kathy) Groenbeck of Davenport; grandchildren. Cathryn (Ryan) Bernardin, Mitchell Groenbeck, Kaitlyn Groenbeck and James Turner; great-grandchildren, Mikayla (John), Kaleb, Tori, Blake, and Maverick; great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Oakley, Leo, Leona, Charlotte, and Silvia; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

We rejoice in the fact that she is in Heaven with her parents; her husband; siblings, Gus, Gertrude, Elsie, and Bill; granddaughters, Stephanie Anita, and Kristina Marie; and son-in-law, Randy Bell.

Betty adored her Boston Terriers and had many throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Animals Shelter, Tipton, Iowa.

Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.McGinnis-Chambers.com.
