Betty Snyder

Betty Lou Snyder, 88, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.

Her memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the church.  Committal services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery on Wednesday morning.  Those wishing to attend the committal service should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf by 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Betty was born January 7, 1934 in Roswell, New Mexico.  She was united in marriage to Charles D. Snyder on September 7, 1952 in Roswell.  He preceded her in death on October 9, 2019.

Betty had run a drapery service out of her home for many years.  As a member of First Baptist Church, Betty was a faithful servant of the Lord.  She enjoyed crosswords and word searches and occasional trips to Las Vegas.  She also adored the company of her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas & Debra Snyder of Bettendorf; her grandsons, J.D. (Heather) Snyder and Chad (Kate) Snyder; her sister, Peggy Pick of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her brothers, Gene Whitehead of Denton, Texas and Albert (Lacy) Whitehead of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Lolis Whitehead; her sister, Betty Ann; her sister-in-law, Mae Whitehead; and her brother-in-law, Henry Pick.
