Betty Theis

Betty Lou Theis, 89, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Kahl Home, Davenport. Private family graveside services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Genesis Hospice or to the Humane Society of Scott County.

McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born on April 26, 1933, in Stockholm, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar and Hildur (Anderson) Wallin.  On May 12, 1956, she was united in marriage to Raymond T. Theis II in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In her earlier years, she worked as an administrative assistant at Maytag in Minnesota. A homemaker while the boys were young the family lived in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Rochester, Minnesota and Schaumburg, Illinois before making Bettendorf, Iowa their home. She retired from the Bettendorf school system after many years of service in several roles at Bettendorf High School and Middle School. Betty enjoyed traveling, her many friends, and had a special passion for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings.

Those left to honor her memory are her sons, Greg Theis, Todd (Christine) Theis, three granddaughters, Sadie Theis, Natalie Theis, and Megan Theis, all of Davenport, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 1998, eight sisters, Mildred, Gladys, Evelyn, Doris, Elvera, Clarice, Helen, Marion and two brothers, Roy and Reynold.
