Obituary

Beverly A. Rowold, 85, of Eldridge, Iowa, died peacefully on Saturday, July 18,2026, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by loved ones.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at The DeWitt Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in DeWitt, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date in Fulton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Beverly was born June 5, 1941, in McBaine, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse James Burton and Christina Ruth (Henage) Burton. She grew up in Fulton, Missouri with her loving mother and stepfather, William Brandenburg. After graduation from Fulton High School, she happily tended to her home and family.

After some years, she started working at Utility Equipment Company in Bettendorf, Iowa where she met the love of her life, Thomas M. Rowold. She retired after 20 years but loved the life of service so much that she went on to work at the Handicap Development Center. After 8 years, she decided her time was best spent taking care of her grandchildren. Once her grandchildren were grown, she came out of retirement to work at Children’s Choice Daycare to continue to spread her caring and loving nature.

Beverly’s spare time activities revolved around her great love for her grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, shopping, and sharing her quick-witted sense of humor.

Those left to honor her memory are her three biological children from her first marriage, Bill Williams of Eldridge, Randy (Stefanie) Williams of Davenport, and Linda (Randy) Johnston of Davenport; two stepchildren from her second marriage, Tim (Audra) Rowold of Wichita, Kansas and Teresa (Brian) Furlong of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her faithful dog, Sophie. She is survived by her beloved sister, Joyce Wilkerson of Fulton, Missouri.

Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas M. Rowold, her parents, two brothers, and a sister.
