      Bonnie R. Sawvell, 84, of Buffalo, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Country Manor, Davenport.

      Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24th at Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo, Iowa. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements.

      Bonnie was born on March 10, 1941 in Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Gladys (Freeman) Jones. She married Leslie R. “Sonny” Sawvell on April 2, 1958. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She loved and collected owls of all shapes and sizes and was a devout Elvis fan. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma.

      Those left to honor her memory are her children, Sheila (Rick) Downs of Buffalo, Douglas (Elizabeth) Sawvell of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Sherry (Tony) Anderson of Davenport, and Shelly (Jimmy) Thurston of Blue Grass; grandchildren, Shannon Oechsner, Jinne Riley, Jamie (Eldred) Nunn, Joshua Downs, Jessie Downs, Callie Sawvell, Dakota Sawvell, Kane (Aubrey) Anderson, Kayla Frederick, McCoy Sawvell, and Virginia Sawvell; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Sonny”; a great-grandson, Brandon Ballard; and nine siblings.
