Carol Hicks

Carol L. Hicks, 68, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Carol was born January 10, 1954 in Gold Beach, Oregon.  She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Hicks on March 16, 1974 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Carol had been employed in housekeeping with the Casa Loma and Twin Bridges motels.  She enjoyed her computer games and Skip-Bo.  She also enjoyed crocheting in earlier years and she adored the company of her grandbabies.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Tom; her daughters, Leanna Hicks of Davenport and Elizabeth Hicks (Brian Pfab) of Davenport; her sons, Benjamin Hicks of Park View, Iowa and Michael Hicks (Brandy Huber) of Milan, Illinois; eight grandchildren; her great-grandson, Nikolai; and her sister Kathryn (Nissen) Harris of Waukomis, Oklahoma.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Hunter; her father, Marion Nissen; her step-father, Benjamin Hunter; and her brother, Keith (Nissen) Arthur.
