Carolyn Klemme

February 14, 1942 — June 6, 2022

Carolyn N. Klemme, 80, of Bettendorf, Iowa went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 6, 2022.

Private family services will be held and burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carolyn was born on February 14, 1942 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Harold and Margie (Price) Hall.  She spent her younger years attending school in Jefferson City and later Joplin, Missouri before her family moved to Iowa.  On June 10, 1995, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Klemme in Davenport.  Prior to her retirement in 2004, Carolyn worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Kahl Home for over 20 years.

Carolyn was a caregiver by nature and was a devout Christian.  Her faith was always in the perfect Lamb of God.  She enjoyed listening to Christian music, reading and studying the Bible, and surrounding herself with the love of friends and family.  She was an active member of West Side Assembly of God Church, Davenport.

Those left to honor her memory are her sons, Michael Van Horn of Davenport, Rodney (Annie Murray) Searle of Davenport, John Searle of Peoria, Illinois; grandsons, Randy Meade and Tanner (Brittany) Meade; several great-grandchildren; sister, Frayetta Hall of Davenport; brother, John Price of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and siblings, Judy McIntire and Luther Hall.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bettendorf Health Care Center and Genesis Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Carolyn and her family.
