Connie J. Crook, 73, of Davenport, Iowa. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, surrounded by the love of her family.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Connie’s life will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society, a cause that was especially close to Connie’s heart or to the family.

Connie was born on May 29, 1952, in Davenport, the daughter of Kenneth and Irene (Berner) Pennock. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1970 and spent her life deeply rooted in the community she loved.

On July 13, 1988, Connie was united in marriage to Jon A. Crook in Camanche, Iowa, beginning a loving partnership that spanned more than three decades.

Connie devoted over 30 years of faithful service to the M.A. Ford Company in Davenport, retiring in 2016. Even in retirement, the friendships she formed there remained important to her, and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her “retired ladies” group.

Above all else, Connie treasured her family. Her grandchildren were truly the joy of her life, and she found her greatest happiness in time spent with them. Connie also had a gentle and compassionate heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Those left to cherish Connie’s memory include her loving husband, Jon; her daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Ladouceur of Bettendorf; her son, Justin Valle of Swedona, Illinois; her cherished grandchildren, Xavier (Ali) Ladouceur, Dionte (Riley) Ladouceur, Aiden Thomas, Gavin Ladouceur, Isaiah Valle, Jaxon Valle and Jadyn Valle; her treasured great-grandchildren, Theodore and Emmie Ladouceur; her sister, Bonnie (Larry) Bartscher of Davenport; along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Irene Pennock; and her brother, Donald Pennock.
