Craig J. Dahms, 65, of Walcott, Iowa, died Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the services should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf by 9:30 a.m., Friday morning. Memorials may be made to the Park View Lutheran Church in Park View, Iowa.
Craig was born March 20, 1949 in Davenport, the son of Warren & Gloria (Rock) Dahms. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam Conflict where he had been a radio operator.
Craig was a graduate of Black Hawk College and had attended Augustana College. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26 in Davenport. Craig enjoyed writing and music.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Gloria Dahms of Eldridge; his brothers, Gary (Cindy) Dahms of Missouri, Brad (Dee) Dahms of Bloomington, Illinois and Doug Dahms of Walcott with his special friend, Rebecca; and several nieces and nephews.
Craig was preceded in death by his father and his uncle, Bob Dahms.
