Darrin Lee Harlowe, 63, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at his home.

Darrin was born June 22, 1962 in Puyallup, Washington, the son of Dennis S. & Evelyn M. (Schaff) Harlowe. 

He was united in marriage to Ricardo Ortiz on March 14, 2025 in Palm Springs, California. Darrin had earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of the Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He had been a Human Resources Professional and Director of Hospitality with staffing services in Palm Springs and Seattle, Washington. 

He will be remembered for his amazing smile, exquisite culinary skills, and exceptional life. 

Those left to honor his memory are his spouse, Ricardo; his brother, Greg Harlowe; his sister, Selena Corwin; his nephew, Wade Corwin; and his many friends and chosen family of Gig Harbor and Fife, Washington. His visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery the following week.
