David M. Roete, 61, of LeClaire, Iowa passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family, in care of Jean Clark. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements.

David was born on October 5, 1964 in Rock Island, Illinois the son of David and Mary Lou (Allison) Roete. On December 31, 1998, he married Jean Clark in Rock Island. In his younger years, David worked as a groundskeeper at the Deere-Wiman House in Moline with his Grandparents. He worked at TPC/PFG as a warehouseman for 32 years. David was very active in the community and volunteered for numerous groups and organizations including Primary Academy in Rock Island, a volunteer fireman/EMT with the LeClaire Fire Department, and as Champion Tug Master for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman spending his time as a deer hunter, international master fisherman, turtle catcher, butcher, mushroom hunter (sharing his bounty and knowledge with friends and family).

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jean Clark of LeClaire; son, Jacob (Tiffany) Roete of Kewanee, Illinois; grandson, Damon Michael Roete of Kewanee; sister, Dawn (Joe) Nelson of LeClaire; Uncle Jim (Elaine) Roete, of LeClaire, step-sisters, Lori (Rick) Shaw of Bettendorf, Lisa (Kevin) Kipper of Donahue; nieces, Olivia (Arthur) Braden, Amanda Nelson; step-niece and nephew, Rachel (Blake) Brink, Corey Shaw; numerous close friends, including Libby Ahlf; and his faithful companion, Earl.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his parents, David and Mary Lou; and a niece, Audrey Nelson.
