David DeWight Newton

Visitation for David DeWight Newton, 70, of Davenport, will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Graveside services will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.   

David passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. 

David was born on May 3, 1953, in Muscatine, IA, the son of Eugene and Doris (Eierman) Newton. He married Karen Eichenberger at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA, on September 27, 1975. He was employed as an Iron Worker for Local 111, Rock Island, retiring in 2003. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Davenport, daughters, Michelle Newton, Erica Newton, both of Davenport, son, Isaac Newton of Davenport, grandchildren, Isaiah Newton, Xzavion Smith, Carissa Smith, Zen Smith and a brother, Paul Newton of Davenport.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Stella Newton.
