David W. Spicer, 66, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at MercyOne Genesis East in Davenport.

A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  A Celebration of Life will be forthcoming in Walcott, Iowa at a later date to be announced.

David was born on January 12, 1960 in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Charles G. & Evelyn Roberta (Freeman) Spicer.  He was united in marriage to Theresa R. Worton on July 17, 2004 in Davenport.

Over the years, David had worked for Sivyer Steel, Hickory Grove Auto and B & C Auto Wreckers.  He enjoyed hunting, bowling, riding motorcycles and going to car shows.  He befriended a lot of people, never knew a stranger and he will be missed by his family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Theresa; his daughters and sons-in-law, Amber & Brian Spicer of Davenport, Sam & Jamie Gruentzmacher of Davenport and Chrissy Spicer of Davenport; his son, Nathan Anderson of Dixon, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Candida White of Missouri and April Spicer of Davenport; his brothers, Chuck Spicer of Davenport, Robert (Angie) Spicer of Missouri, Jerry Spicer of Clinton, Iowa, Charlie (Amy) Spicer of Davenport and Justin Spicer of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Ronald and Pam.
