Donald Folland

Donald S. Folland, 61, of rural LeClaire, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21st at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Jack’s Cemetery, LeClaire.  Memorials may be directed to Kids 4 Vets, 2703 Oak St., Bettendorf, Iowa 52722.

Don was born on October 24, 1961 in Creston, Iowa to Sidney and Shirley (Toney) Folland.  On July 11, 1986, he was united in marriage to Dawn Bryant in Davenport, Iowa.  Don worked as the general manager at Harlan’s Restaurant in Davenport.  He retired in 2020 after over 30 years of service.  He and his wife enjoyed traveling out West, camping at Scott County Park, and motorcycle riding.  Don was an avid John Wayne fan, and an Iowa Hawkeye and Minnesota Viking fan.  Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Dawn Folland of LeClaire; his children, DJ (Emma) Folland of Bettendorf, David Folland of Silvis, Illinois, and Ashley (Chris) Sebert of Cordova, Illinois; two grandchildren, Lucas and Annabelle Folland; his mother, Shirley Folland of Davenport; siblings, Albert (Linda) Folland of Grand Mound, Iowa, Sidney (Diane) Folland Jr. of Maysville, Iowa, and Sandy (Allan Goarcke) Folland of Donahue, Iowa; his mother-in-law, Darlene Bryant of Davenport; several nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Duke.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney; and his maternal grandparents, John and Ione Toney.
