Funeral services for Donald Dean Jewell, 90, of Davenport, will be 10:00 am on Saturday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Family will greet friends on Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home.
Donald passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis, Davenport.
Donald Dean Jewell was born on January 24, 1935, at home in Fairfield, IA, the son of Roy and Frieda (Hedge) Jewell. He married Lola Kisling on June 22, 1958. He worked for 33 years as a resident service tech for Mosler Inc, retiring in 1998. After retiring he and his wife traveled the country in their RV working at multiple campgrounds. Then he volunteered for US RV Maps for 3 years assisting in the building of churches. Which he considered to be a highlight in his later years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, during the Vietnam War Era.
He was a member of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, and recently started attending Living Hope Church, Davenport, IA.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Jewell of Davenport, daughter, Patricia Dywiak of Davenport, IA, son, Donald (Wendy) Jewell of East Moline, IL, grandchildren Nathaneal Jewell (Tiffany), Cassaundra Poole (Jake), Caytlin Gracey (John) Aryanna, Jadien, Lilianna, Trinity, Faith Dywiak, eleven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Erma Nelson of Burlington, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Jewell and brother-in-law, John Nelson.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
