Donald Meinart

Donald L. Meinert, 86, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Meadow Lawn Care Center in Davenport.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the Pine Hill Cemetery Chapel, Davenport. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born May 30, 1918 in Davenport and retired from the Red Jacket Pump Company where he was employed as a tool crib attendant.
Don was united in marriage to Marguerite B. (Speth) Rauch in Davenport. She preceded him in death on August 8, 1981.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received during combat in the European Theater.
Those left to honor his memory include his step-daughter, Mila M. Smith & her husband, Milo of Davenport; her step-son, Larry Rauch & his wife, Marlene of Eldridge; six step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
