Donald R. Gaines, 50, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend his service should meet at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf by 1:15 P.M. Wednesday.
He was born June 2, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of James & Ruby (Strother) Gaines.
Don was employed in industrial maintenance primarily in Arizona where he formerly lived.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged as a Private First Class in 1980.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Debra Gaines of Bettendorf; his brothers, Gary Gaines, Terry Gaines and David Gaines; his nephew, Richard Gonzalez of Rock Island, Illinois; his niece, Lucy Gonzalez of Bettendorf; his great nephews, Skyler Gonzalez and Anthony Gonzalez; and his great-niece, Destiny Ward.
