Dorothy Housley

Dorothy Housley, 92, of Shawnee, Kansas, formerly of Davenport, passed away on March 28, 2019.  There will be no visitation or services per Dorothy’s request.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Dorothy was born on August 20, 1926 in LeClaire, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Elsie (Slaby) Seibel.  She was united in marriage to Boyd Housley on October 8, 1951.  He preceded her in death on October 28, 2005.

Dorothy enjoyed embroidering, circle a word puzzles, and playing solitaire.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Penny and son-in-law Robert of Shawnee, KS; grandson, Christian of Independence, Iowa; sisters, Geraldine Schemel of Rockford, Illinois, Nancy Spragg of LeClaire, and Betty Peckenschneider of Bettendorf; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lois Connell, Evelyn Reynolds, Mary Park; and a brother, Donald Seibel.
