Dorothy L. Gartmaier

Dorothy L. Gartmaier, 95, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Friday, September 26, 2003 at Crest Health Center, Davenport.
Family graveside services will be held at Oakdale Memorial Cemetery, Davenport. There will be no visitation. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
She was born August 15, 1908 in Davenport, the daughter of Fred & Minnie (Arp) Green. She married Louis Gartmaier in Davenport on June 23, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1968.
In earlier years, Dorothy had been employed as an operator for Northwest Bell Telephone and has worked as a secretary for Bendix and at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Her memberships included the Putman Museum Guild, the Royal Neighbors of American and Liedertaufel..
Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with her friends, caring for her garden and was also an avid bowler.
Those left to honor her memory include nieces, Mary Glenn of Naperville, Illinois and Jan Glenn of West Des Moines, Iowa; three great-nieces & three great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister & two brothers.
