Douglas Hansen

Douglas Scott Hansen, 63, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.  He was born November 5,1959, to John & Barbara (Postlewait) Hansen in Chicago, IL.

 

Doug was a graduate of St. Ambrose University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  He worked as a manager at Eagles Foods, before starting his own furniture delivery business, Hansen Enterprises.  He finished his time in the workforce as an independent over-the-road truck driver.

 

He was an avid sports fan.  He could often be found watching and cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  Doug also had quite the affinity for gardening.  He loved entertaining friends and family in his backyard oasis.

 

Survivors include his children, Jacob Hansen of Los Angeles, CA, Jessie (Scott) Willett of Arkadelphia, AR, Preston Hansen of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Jameson Hansen, Kaden Willett, Kylar Willett, Knox Willett; siblings, Cindy (Myron) Zabel of Eldridge, IA, Edie Hansen of Mesa, AZ, John (Cory) Hansen of Denver, PA; many nieces & nephews and his long-time friend & companion, Betty Dillon of Davenport.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Elliott Hansen.

 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.
