Eldon L. Lindsey

          Eldon L. Lindsey, 76, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa passed away at his home on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

          A celebration of life is being planned for a future date.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.  Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

          He was born in Davenport, Iowa on October 29, 1947, the son of William and Rose (Brewick Speers) Lindsey and was a 1966 graduate of Davenport Central High School.

          Eldon retired from the Oscar Mayer Company of Davenport after 33 years of service.  Following retirement, he continued to work for Dave’s Floor Trends, Reiser Jennings and the Brooks Law Firm.

          He was a former member of the Eldridge Jaycees and was an active participant in the annual Eldridge Summerfest Car Show.

          In his spare time, he enjoyed attending auctions, traveling, collecting coins & guns and loved classic cars.

          Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Conney; his daughters, Mindy (Tom) Breck of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kate (Bob) Marx of Winthrop, Massachusetts; his sons, Keith Lindsey of Eldridge, Ryan (Kristi) Lindsey of Eldridge, Andy (Amy) Straley of Eldridge and Ben (Anna) Straley of Long Grove, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; and many nieces and cousins.

          Eldon was preceded in death by his sisters, Ladema Ehm and Millie Woodward and his parents, William and Rose Lindsey.
