Eleanor M. Blythe

Eleanor M. Blythe, 95, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Eleanor was born November 1, 1929 in Bettendorf, the daughter of John and Nellie (Mackoviak) Mizlo Sr. On June 10, 1950, she married Dallas C. Blythe Sr. in Bettendorf. Eleanor worked in the advertising department at Petersen Harned Von Maur, and later in the mail room at AAA Iowa Insurance and Auto Club. 

Those left to honor her memory are her son, Dallas Blythe Jr. of Bettendorf; her adopted granddaughter, Haley Thomas of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; her niece, Ardith Frandsen of Bettendorf; her nephew, Jack Mizlo of Rock Island; and her sister-in-law, Hattie Mizlo of Lena, Illinois. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Sr.; and two brothers, Francis and John Mizlo.
