Ernest Lee Mangels II

Memorial services for Ernest Lee Mangels II, 44, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4800 Kennedy Dr, East Moline, IL 61244. Family will greet friends on Friday from 10:00 am to service time at the church.

        Ernest passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport, IA.

        Ernest was born on February 23, 1979, at Moline Public Hospital, the son of Ernest and Cassie (Pruden) Mangels. He graduated from North High School in 1997. He married Stephanie Sleeper in Walcott, IA on October 1, 2015. He worked as an independent over the road truck driver for 10 years and then as a delivery driver for Auto Zone, Davenport.

        Ernest enjoyed gunsmithing, grilling, camping, fishing, making chainmail and his dogs, Baby Girl, Eris, Koda and Gracie.

        Survivors include his wife, Stephanie, of Davenport, son, Devery Mangles of Davenport, sister, Lisa Norris of Davenport, brother, Eric (Christina) Mangels of Davenport, mother, Cassie of Davenport and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

        He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Ellery in infancy.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Scott County Humane Society.
