Frances A. Leamer, 86, Davenport, Iowa, passed away on May 27, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 2, 2025, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. prior to funeral service. Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Princeton, Iowa. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon following the burial at the LeClaire Community Center. Memorials may be made to Faith First Community Church or Asbury United Methodist Church.
Frances was born April 18, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Ethel (Hallmann) Ehlers.
She was united in marriage to Charles Leamer on May 23, 1958, and they spent the next fifty-three years on the family farm raising their family and enjoying their family, friends, and the Argo community.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many. She was a former member of the Scott County Sheep Producers, Scott County Farm Bureau, and was currently a member of Asbury Methodist women’s group.
She will be long remembered for her loving smiles, cooking everyone’s favorite foods, loving her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She was a woman of strong spiritual faith, she endured life’s challenges and celebrated life’s special moments.
Those left to celebrate and honor her memory include, daughters, Debora (Jim) Sullivan, of Davenport, Cheryl Leamer (daughter-in-law) of Eldridge, Iowa, Diana Holst of Eldridge, Donna (Scott) Wiederin of Breda, Iowa. Her grandsons, Zachary (Shannon) Holst, Levi Leamer, Chase (Sydney) Leamer, Grant Wiederin. Her granddaughters, Kati (Mark) Godden, Amanda Morrison, Morgan Dykstra and Kaylyn Wiederin, 2 step-grandchildren, Justin and Sara, 12 great-grandchildren and Arlene Ehlers, (sister-in-law) of Blue Grass, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents Alvin & Ethel Ehlers, her son, David Leamer, her brother, Alvin (Chuck) Ehlers, her grandson, Derek Sullivan, and her beloved fur baby Sparky.
The family sends love and special thanks to the Genesis East ICU staff, the Kahl Retirement Home staff, and a most cherished friend Gina Mathenia.
