Franklyn G. Hoke, 89, of Eldridge, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Fieldstone of DeWitt in DeWitt, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29th at Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Franklyn was born on December 24, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of George T. and Reva C. (Davis) Hoke. He graduated from Central High School in 1954. On December 24, 1955, Franklyn married the love of his life, Carolyn McCarty. Franklyn worked as a printer at Fidlar and Chambers in Davenport, and later as a window, door, and screen repairman at K & K Hardware in Bettendorf. He was a member of Westside Assembly of God and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughter, Lori (William) Otten; his son, Kenneth Hoke; his nephews that he raised as his own, Brian (Tina) Miller, David Miller, and Billy Joe Miller; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn; daughter, Kathy Martin; and four siblings, Hulda Nelson, Patricia Krieger, George Hoke Jr., and Lonnie Hoke.
