Helen M. Meyer

Helen M. Meyer, 82, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday, August 18, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born January 13, 1926 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Samuel & Rose (Freedman) Anofsky. On May 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Glenn A. Meyer in Boston. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2003.
Helen was a homemaker and in earlier years, worked at Younkers at Duck Creek and was a school crossing guard in Bettendorf.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Donna (Leslie) Lauritsen of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Emily (Andy) Moore of Bettendorf and Michael Lauritsen of Bettendorf; her great-grandson, Jackson Moore; her brother-in-law, Ken (Marge) Meyer of Denison, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Weaver of Denison; and several loving nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Robert; her sisters, Jean and Ann; and her brother, Morris.
