Inarose Hazlett, 85, of Davenport, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 in Davenport. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or Genesis VNA Hospice.
Inarose was born April 20, 1919 in Urbana, Illinois, the daughter of Howard Leslie and Marion Rose (Hunt) Taylor. She was united in marriage to James Covode Hazlett in Davenport on March 28, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1992.
Inarose had been employed as a manager at the former Lerner’s Dress Shop in Davenport and she had also been employed at Schwind-Boeker Buick in Davenport and at the Scott County Treasurer’s Office. Following her retirement, she was a caregiver for her husband and daughter.
Inarose will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She was an avid bowler, and was formerly a member of the Davenport Women’s Bowling Association. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, camping, traveling, and especially gardening.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Linda R. Paterson and Leslie D. Young, both of Davenport; her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis M. and Bette Hazlett, Tempe, Arizona; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; her sisters, Charmaine McMahon and Marcia Brown and her husband, Ken; her brothers, Roger Taylor and Lanny Taylor, all of the Medford, Oregon area; and her brother-in-law, Grant Hazlett and his wife, Irene, of Nebraska.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Elsie and Dana; her brother, Howard; and her beloved dog, Charlotte.
