Those wanting to attend should meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning to join the procession to the cemetery.
Jack E. Hancock, 79, of Davenport passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Unity Point Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7th at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those who want to attend should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf by 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning to join the procession to the cemetery.
Jack was born February 17, 1947 in Davenport, the son of Raymond and Thelma (Evans) Hancock. In 1965, he graduated from Parkland High School in El Paso, Texas. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1970. In 1972 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and retired in 1992. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division, and as a paratrooper and infantry foot soldier.
Those left to honor his memory are his children, Carrie Ann Apostle and Jack P. (Megan) Hancock, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Tegan Apostle and Gage Hancock; brothers, Jim (Margo) Hancock and Jay (Jennifer) Hancock, all of Davenport; and sister-in-law, Linda Hancock of Urbandale, Iowa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jon and Jeffrey Hancock.
