James E. Trotter

James E. Trotter, 84, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jim was born September 17, 1940 in Bonanza, Arkansas, the son of Leroy & Pauline (Bowers) Trotter. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Vozel on March 29, 1960 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Jim was retired from Nestle Purina where he had been a millwright for 43 years. He enjoyed traveling, skiing, fishing and cars.

Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife of 65 years, Jeanne; his sons, Timothy (Gina) Trotter of Davenport and Scott Trotter of Colorado; his grandchildren, Ashley Trotter of Connecticut, Rachel Trotter of Oregon, Rosemary Trotter of Colorado and Samantha Trotter of Minnesota; and his great-grandson, Carson Ellis of LeClaire, Iowa.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Francis Bridges and Vera Redwine.
