James F. Moenck, 69, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Friday, November 30, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
He was born April 18, 1935 in Davenport, the son of Frederick H. “Fritz” & Selma “Sally” (Harders) Moenck.
Jim & his father operated Moenck’s Market in Pleasant Valley for many years. In later years, he was a courier for the Purolator Company. For the past eight years, Jim owned & operated Monkey’s Riverdale Tap in Riverdale. In addition, he drove a school bus for the Pleasant Valley School District for 43 years.
Jim had a multitude of friends and loved the time he spent with them.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter & son-in-law, Candace & David Harty of Bettendorf; his sons & daughter-in-law, Ernie Moenck of Bettendorf and Jim & Sue Moenck of Long Grove, Iowa; his grandchildren, Eric Gibson, Ernie Moenck, Fred Moenck, Rachel Gill & John Moenck; and eight great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Renae Moenck; and by his parents.
