Janice K. Brinkley, 84, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Harmony Utica Ridge in Davenport, Iowa.

Private family graveside services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center or to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born in Hannibal, Missouri on April 21, 1941, the daughter of Harold W. and Edith M. (Ellis) Thomas.

In earlier years, Janice was employed by the Hy-Vee grocery store in Milan, Illinois in the kitchen and deli department.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed western movies and loved her Teddy Bear collection.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Paula K. Edwards of Oak Hill, West Virginia, her son, Kenneth D. (Bonnie) Brinkley of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Jacob Jeffrey Posey, Kathleen “Katie” Rose Edwards, Christian Brinkley and Heather Angel; her sister, Evelyn Thurston of Bettendorf; and other relatives and wonderful friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her grandson, Mark Thomas; her brother-in-law, Landon Thurston; several aunts, uncles and her special friend, Lonny Kirkpatrick.
