There will be a memorial visitation for JoAnne Snyder, 86, of Bettendorf, IA on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA., from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, IA.

JoAnne passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital, within Mercy One Genesis, Davenport, IA.

JoAnne McLean was born on August 1, 1939, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Kilpatrick) McLean. She was married to David L. Snyder for 17 years, he preceded her in death on May 2, 2001. JoAnne worked at Deere & Co. for 36 years as a receptionist at Deere and Company Technical Center and Corporate.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf, IA., where she taught Sunday school and helped with rummage sales. JoAnne was faithfully devoted to her children and was actively involved as a dance troop mother, a room mother during elementary school days, Girl Scout teacher and involved with the Bettendorf Booster Club. She leaves a legacy of being a gifted pianist and piano teacher who shared her love of music with countless students for 38 years.

Survivors include her daughters, Tory Snyder of Delray Beach, FL., Chandra Snyder of Greenville, SC, niece, Linda (Dennis) Griffith and nephew, Jeff (Kathy) Neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-on-law, Mary (Bill) Neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Scott County Humane Society.
