Joseph Eugene “Gene” Hettrick, 87, of Davenport, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. There will be a private family service and burial.
Gene was born June 30, 1929 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Dwight “Bob” & Vinola (Walsh) Hettrick. He was an insurance salesman for several years.
Those left to honor his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Cathy Hettrick of Bettendorf; his grandson, Daniel Hettrick of Bettendorf; his sister, Berneta “Bertie” (Carl) Ruff of Maquoketa, Iowa; his brother, Bill (Vivian) Hettrick of Boulder, Colorado; and his former wife, Marilyn of Bettendorf.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Linda Hettrick; his son, David Hettrick; and his sister, Arlene “Artie” Killen.
