Justin "Wayne" Hicks

Justin W. “Wayne” Hicks, 67, of Davenport, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Wayne was born on October 9, 1954 in Davenport, the son of Arthur and Virginia (Runyon) Hicks Sr.  In his early years he enjoyed bowling and participated in various local bowling leagues.  He worked as a welder for McLaughlin Body Shop in Moline until his retirement.

Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Stefanie VandeLune of Davenport and Tanya (Brian) Gould of Bettendorf; five grandchildren, Kayla Wales, Alexis Dvorak, Morgan (Melvin Gray) VandeLune, Nathaniel Gould, and Samantha (Jason Dean) Gould; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Janet) Hicks of Calamus, Iowa and Dennis (Patti Jo) Hicks of Richmond, Indiana; three nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Clifford, Darrell, and Arthur Paul Jr.; and a grandson, Dylan VandeLune.
