Karen Auliff

Karen J. Auliff, 83, of Wheatland, Iowa, formerly of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Wheatland Manor.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th at Boll’s Community Center, Princeton.  Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Karen was born January 11, 1938 in Davenport, the daughter of Harold and Janet (VanEvera) Wilson.  Following high school, she married Robert H. Auliff in Argo, Iowa on August 6, 1954.  Karen was a devoted farm wife and mother.  She later worked as a rural postal carrier for 25 years in LeClaire until her retirement in 1998.  She enjoyed gardening and was a talented piano and organ player.  Karen was a homebody, but loved having company and spending time with her family.

Those left to honor her memory are her children, Pete (Linda) Auliff of Walcott, Peg (Ken) Ferris of Blue Grass, Joe (Cathy) Auliff of DeWitt, Kelly Auliff of Eldridge; 11 grandchildren, Jacob (David), Katrina (Brock), Elizabeth (Nathan), Amy (Brad), Angie, Brad (Kathleen), Jennifer, Julie (Rocky), Matt, Jordan, and Kara (Jesse); 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; brother, Carl Wilson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Ivan) Wilson of Eldridge, Sharon Wilson of Bennett, Iowa, and Jean Claeys of Delmar, Iowa.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Grand Haven Retirement Community, Eldridge and to Wheatland Manor for the exceptional care and compassion given to Karen during the past few years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, John; brothers, Jim and Dick; daughter-in-law, Julie; and father and mother-in-law, Russel & Eunice Auliff.
