Kathryn R. Kelly

Kathryn R. Kelly, 57, of Eldridge, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Contributions in her memory may be made to Gilda’s Club of the Quad-Cities, the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.
Kathryn was born March 6, 1952 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon & Marie (Poell) Bartling. She was united in marriage to Dennis D. Kelly on August 22, 1987 in Eldridge.
Kathryn had recently retired as a pharmacy technician from Omnicare in Davenport where she had been employed for ten years.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Kathryn’s family, especially her grandchildren, were the joy of her life.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dennis; her daughter, Melissa Woods and her fiancé, Fred Hegwood, of Eldridge; her son, Anthony (Wendy) Woods of Eldridge; her step-sons, Shawn Kelly of Phoenix, Arizona, Daniel (Mary) Kelly of Waterloo, Iowa and Brendon Kelly of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren Taylor, Isabella, Sydney, Tate, Brian, Steven, David & Cameron; her sisters, Sue (Joe) VanThournout of Milan, Illinois, Georgia (Larry) Whaples, of Rockford, Illinois, Debra (Dayne) Hurlbut, of Davenport and Ginny Spicer of Denton, Texas; her brothers, Dean (Peggy) Bartling of Springfield, Illinois and Don (Brenda) Bartling of Solon, Iowa.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Dale & Ronald Bartling.
