Kenny was born in Davenport, Iowa on January 5, 1968, the cherished son of Glen and Thelma Glines. Growing up in the Quad Cities area, his childhood was filled with the simple joys of the outdoors, making countless memories camping, fishing, and taking family vacations to California.
A man of strong work ethic, Kenny began his working life as a dedicated employee at Long John Silver's. His passion for hands-on problem solving later led him to a career as an ASE Certified Diesel Mechanic, a trade he mastered and worked in proudly until his retirement 5 years ago.
Kenny’s greatest devotion was to his family. He married his childhood sweetheart Sandra "Bo" Glines and welcomed their daughter Kim. They built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. After Bo’s passing, he embraced being a single father and grandfather while also building a family of friends.
He later met Karen Disterhoft and was blessed to share 15 years of exploring and enjoying the pleasures of life. Karen’s children were an important part of Ken’s family.
Kenny had a deep passion for the open road. He loved nothing more than riding his motorcycle and taking long drives to clear his mind and see the world. In recent years, he found immense joy in exploring new adventures in Tennessee, falling in love with the scenery and the freedom of travel.
Throughout his life, Kenny possessed a distinct spirit, unique charm, and warmth that instantly brought people together. His memorable nickname, "KennyWhoo," was a true reflection of the vibrant, unforgettable personality he carried with him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughter, Kim (Dave) Rose; his wife, Karen Disterhoft; sister, Glenda Betts; daughter, Keeton Lawrence; bonus daughter, Tori Giunta; grandchildren, Tyler Rose, Jullian Schwerdtfeger, Kiley Schwerdtfeger, Xander and Sophia Rose and Kendall Beverlin; and many more bonus children and grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Thelma; his wife, Sandra “Bo”; sister, Linda Jacobsen; brother, Alen Glines; parents-in-law, Richard and Sally Patterson; brother-in-law, Rick Patterson; and his best friend, James.
