Kent Evan Smith, 48, a resident of Park View, Iowa died on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his home.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf.
He was born April 25, 1962 in West Union, Iowa, the son of Robert & Jan (Sporrey) Smith. On March 12, 2005, he was united in marriage to Sandra M. Larimer in LeClaire, Iowa.
Kent was employed as a project planner for Archer Daniels Midland of Clinton, Iowa. In earlier years, he worked as a master mechanic for the Ipsco Steel Mill of Montpelier, Iowa.
Among the things he enjoyed were hunting, spending time out-of-doors and most of all, spending time with his beloved family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sandra; his son, Richard Smith; his step-daughter, Summer; his parents, Robert & Jan Smith of Davenport; and his sister, Kristin Meyer of Davenport.
