A Memorial visitation, for Kevin Lee Lane, 63, of DeWitt, IA will be Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, IA. A private family graveside service will take place on Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Long Grove, IA. Kevin passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family, after a 2½-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kevin was born on July 26, 1963, in Davenport, IA, the son of Jack and Dolores (DeLarm) Lane. He graduated from North Scott High School in 1981. He married Rose Dierickx on April 26, 1986, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove, IA. Kevin worked as a journeyman millwright at Archer Daniel Midland (ADM) in Clinton for 38 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and visiting historical sites. Kevin possessed the gift of mechanics and could fix anything and everything without formal instructions. His knowledge of cars, engines, and general repair was extensive. Kevin also served as a former member of the DeWitt Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; his children, Jennifer (Dustin) Raba, Ashley Lane, and Erin (Nicholas Franco) Lane, who are due with Kevin and Rose’s first grandchild in October of this year. He is also survived by his mother, Dolores Lane; his brothers, Mark (Melissa) Lane and Curtis (Kari) Lane; his mother-in-law, Lolita Dierickx; and his beloved cat, Elliot.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack and father-in-law, John Dierickx.
