Lance F. Stockwell, 58, a resident of Bettendorf, IA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lance Franklyn Stockwell was born April 8, 1967, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Lee and Georgia (Kruse) Stockwell. Lance graduated from Forest High School in Forest, Mississippi, attended Mississippi State University and later graduated from St. Ambrose University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was united in marriage to Amy Hunter on August 12, 2000 in Davenport, IA.

Over the years, Lance worked in finance and the insurance industry where he truly enjoyed helping his clients. Outside of his profession, he was a devoted Chicago Cubs and New Orleans Saints fan. Lance was an avid boater, enjoyed his Tuesday night golf league, and was the king of karaoke. As a passionate world traveler, he frequented Key West and numerous Caribbean beaches. One of his favorite personal accomplishments was completing the Bix7 race over 30 times. Those who know him will remember him as the life of the party and a loving father.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Amy Stockwell of Bettendorf; his sons, Addison Stockwell of Chicago and Garrett Stockwell of Bettendorf; sister, Melissa (Tim) Woeckener of Taylor Ridge; two nieces, Ashley and Erin; and biological father Rick Cook of Altoona, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his biological mother Mary “Jane” Chapman of Des Moines, IA.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
