Larry was a banker for many years.  His career took him from the Bettendorf Bank, Norwest Bank, Wells Fargo Bank and ultimately, the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union where he retired several years ago.

Throughout his career, Larry understood the importance of public service and easily connected with others.  He has been president of the Bettendorf Jaycees and the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce where he served for many years as an Ambassador.  Larry had also been a member of the Bettendorf and Quad-City Morning Optimists Clubs, the Bettendorf Kiwanis Club and had served as district chairman for the Boy Scouts of America.  He was a tireless volunteer and devoted countless hours to the betterment of Bettendorf.  It seemed that wherever help was needed, Larry was there.  Larry was also an elected member of the Bettendorf Park Board, was active with the annual Bettendorf 4th of July Committee, volunteered as a poll worker, donated his time at the annual John Deere Golf Classic, was a founding member of the Bettendorf Business Network and a long-time member of the Durant American Legion Post #430.
