Leslie A. “Les” Weinkauf, Jr., 87, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Fieldstone of DeWitt, Iowa.

His memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Journey Christian Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Les was born May 26, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Leslie & Marion (Anderson) Weinkauf, Sr. He grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.

Les was united in marriage to Joyce A. Johnson on December 12, 1959 at St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf.

Les had retired from Alcoa in 1994 where he had been shift supervisor. He returned to Alcoa for six years after retirement on contract.

An avid Green Bay Packers fan, Les enjoyed the outdoors, the Mississippi river and tending to his yard. Les and Joyce had enjoyed travelling in their motor home for many years. His faith and family were of utmost importance to him.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Joyce; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jody & Barry DeLoss of Spencer, Iowa and Shelli & Cary Waller of Azle, Texas; his son and his significant other, Michael Weinkauf & Deanna Bennett of Duluth, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Jacob (Courtney) DeLoss, Adam (Kelly) DeLoss, Sam (McKenzie) DeLoss, Abigail (Ben) Albertson, Greta (Nate) Scofield, Benjamin (Payton) Weinkauf and Willliam Weinkauf; his former daughter-in-law, Maggie Weinkauf; his great-grandchildren, Sadie, Jack, Ford, Walt, Roy, Chloe, Claire, Brooks and Madelyn; and his brother and sister-in-law, John & Cheryl Weinkauf of New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Les was preceded in death by his parents.
