Leslie H. Buffington, 91, a resident of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Buffalo, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Harmony Utica Ridge in Davenport.

A celebration of life will be from 12:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the Buffalo Activity Center, 329 Dodge St. in Buffalo. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born on August 24, 1934, in Columbus City, Iowa, the son of Reid and Lula (Hill) Buffington. On May 24, 1954, he was united in marriage to Patricia E. Kaucher in Buffalo. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2024.

Leslie retired from the Corps of Engineers where he and his wife were campground dna park attendants for 22 years. In earlier years, he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad, Alcoa and as a millwright for the Nestle Company for 27 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, attending farm and yard sales, and square dancing.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Cindy (Bill) Koeppel of DeWitt, Iowa, Cheryl (Tom McBride) Honeycutt of Davenport and Carol Goodrick of Buffalo; his sons, Douglas (Corrine) Buffington of Preemption, Illinois, Leslie (Patricia) Buffington II of Shenandoah, Iowa and Joseph Buffington of Red Oak, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Cathy Buffington; along with many other extended family members.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Buffington; his daughter-in-law, Crystal Buffington; his grandson, Christopher Goodrick; four sisters, five brothers; and his sons-in-law, Arthur Honeycutt and Shawn Goodrick.
