Lola "Peg" Johnston

Lola M. “Peg” Johnston, 97, of Davenport passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Accordius Health at St. Mary, Davenport.

Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. A committal service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery in the mausoleum chapel.  Memorials may be directed to Prevent Child Abuse (pcaiowa.org), or the charity of your choice.

Lola was born on October 19, 1922 in Wapello, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Swan) Lewis.  On June 18, 1941 she married Charles F. Johnston in Canton, Missouri.  Lola worked as a library clerk and was a devoted wife and mother.

Those left to honor her memory are her two nieces, Tammy Lewis Deviney of Des Moines, Iowa and Diana Lewis Wiig of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughters, Susan Murphy and Pamela Frisby; and brother, Maurice “Bud” Lewis.
