Margaret Anna Weatherly (Nana), 86, of Bettendorf, passed away on Thursday December 18th, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital. There are no services being planned at this time. Inurnment will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Margaret A. Shoop was born on April 27, 1939 in Muncie, IN, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Croucher) Shoop. She married David O. Weatherly at Great Lakes Naval Station on August 11th, 1957. He preceded her in death on April 29th, 2003.

Margaret worked at Younkers as an Estee Lauder representative. She also ran an in-home day care for 20 years, retiring in the late 1990’s. She enjoyed going shopping and playing BINGO with her friends. She loved to try new restaurants, but always had a soft spot for Sports Fans pepperoni pizza. Her most favorite activity was spending time with her family. Margaret was more affectionately known as Nana by all of her family. Nana was lucky enough to become a great, great grandmother this past year, and she loved spending all the time she could with him.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Stacy) Speas, grandchildren Amber (Marc) Hawkes, Andrew Herrin, Brandi Speas; great-grandchildren, Allyson (Brad) Warhurst, Logan Hawkes, Taryn Hawkes and Koltyn Herrin; lastly her great great grandson, Finn Warhurst.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David, an infant daughter, her daughters Sheila Weatherly and Linda Herrin along with her sister Betty Gingras.
