Marion D. Lagrange

Marion D. LaGrange, 91, a resident of Pleasant Valley, Iowa died on Sunday, January 19, 2004 at Doctor’s Regional Hospital, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 23, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley where she was a member. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the church.
She was born in Dannebrog, Nebraska on September 22, 1912, the daughter of Walter N. & Minnie (Williamsen) Nielsen. On March 14, 1934, she was united in marriage to James L. “Les” LaGrange in Chappell, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1993.
Her memberships included the Bettendorf Senior Citizens, the Pleasant Valley Farm Women and the Putman Museum Guild. In addition, she volunteered at the CASI Mealsite at Luther Manor in Bettendorf.
In addition to her volunteer work, she also enjoyed crochet & knitting. She was a devoted homemaker & mother and will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew & loved her.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & son-in-law, Rogene Clemons of South Bend, Indiana and Judith & Maurice Reber of Bettendorf; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her sister, Margaret Hesse of Sebring, Florida.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters & four brothers.
