Marjorie R. Martin

Marjorie R. Martin, 86, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the Bettendorf Healthcare Center, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
She was born in Mediapolis, Iowa on May 31, 1919, the daughter of Julius & Mary Louise (Schroder) Fladt. In 1939, she was united in marriage to F. Dewey Martin in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1975.
Marjorie was a devoted homemaker & mother and a former member of the Northwest Turners and the Davenport Eagles Lodge.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & sons-in-law, Marilyn & Dick Lyda of Camdenton, Missouri and Ruth & Pat York of Davenport; her son, Patrick Martin of Davenport; her granddaughters, Tina Medina and Cherie Livingston; her great-grandson, Tony Medina; her step-daughter, Betty Swartout of Davenport; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Richie Lyda; her step-son, Kenneth Martin; and by her parents.
